’s of Social Media: A Primer for Associations |
Marymount University, in collaboration with ClickforHelp.com Inc., is sponsoring a workshop on Social Media for associations and non-profit organizations. Social media and audience-centered methods provide a new paradigm for thinking about how to communicate, collaborate, and obtain understanding and information from a community-based audience.
Join us for a broad perspective on what social media is and what it means to associations and non-profits. This 3hr workshop includes group sessions working on planning social media strategy to reach a specific goal. The workshop is presented by Ken Fischer, CIO for ClickforHelp.com Inc. The workshop starts at 1:00 pm and registration is required.
Ken Fischer started programming computers at the age of 12, but other life experiences greatly affected his views on technology. He was trained as a listener through work as a crisis counselor, where he diffused suicidal crises using a model of rapport building, value identification, and problem solving. His first experience as a facilitator was at the request of St. Louis County to mediate a discussion between the EPA and a group of concerned citizens regarding the cleanup of a superfund site. He first designed and developed a collaborative community web application in 2001. Ken cofounded Clickforhelp in 2004 and has become increasingly interested in methods of creating technology enabled collaboration which integrate human factors with technology selection and design.

ClickforHelp creates innovative online solutions based on the underlying principles of the Web 2.0 phenonmenon.
